Having helmed Atonement and Pride and Prejudice, director Joe Wright has shown an uncanny knack for adapting romantic novels set within the 19th century. Wright’s fixation with this century (and Keira Knightley for that matter) will continue this 2012 with the adaption of one of Leo Tolstoy’s most famous works Anna Karenina. Featuring stunning sets and vistas, Anna Karenina frames the tumultuous affair between an unhappily married aristocrat (Knightley) and a count (Aaron Johnson) and the tragic consequences that result from it.
Anna Karenina opens in theaters November.
